Retro puzzle game ‘Chip’s Challenge’ will release on Nintendo Switch on January 25th, publisher Pixel Games has announced. Originally released in 1989, ‘Chip’s Challenge’ is known for pushing players to the limit with its incredible difficulty. The game will be made available for £2.99 via the Nintendo eShop and players can pre-order now.
In ‘Chip’s Challenge’ players take on the role of Chip — a puzzle-obsessed schoolboy who is desperate to join Melinda the Mental Marvel’s computer club. Chip’s initiation takes the form of a series of increasingly difficult puzzles. To succeed, players will need to slide blocks, dodge hazards and collect the computer chips to complete each level.
This new release of ‘Chip’s Challenge’ does come with some modern features such as suspend points, allowing players to save their game in the midst of a puzzle and some display filters to bring even more 80s nostalgia to the table.
The release of ‘Chip’s Challenge’ marks the third retro re-release for Pixel Games, who have recently released ‘The Monty Mole Collection’ and ‘Hidden Gems: Volume 1’ — a collection of Commodore 64 games.
‘Chip’s Challenge’ will be released on January 25th on Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop.
